ICY is working together with a Christian College, a Mission Training Agency and our youth ministry partners in North America and Europe to give you the chance to study full time but in a practical context of youth ministry and global mission. We aim to equip you with a training and qualification relevant to all forms of subsequent Christian ministry, as well as giving you the opportunity to work out what you are learning and gain practical experience. Ultimately we want:
To serve you by equipping you for a life time of ministry through missional local church experience and recognized study at Bachelors level, while enabling you to reach and disciple as many young people as possible as you do it.
To serve the church by making youth ministry possible in contexts where because of limited resources it wouldn't otherwise happen in this way or on this scale.
To serve young people by
seeing them come to faith, grow in faith, and catch a vision for mission.
Are over 18, and have a North American, European or Oceanian passport. We don’t have the facilities or the visa clearance to process applicants of other nationalities.
Have a passion for Christ, for reaching young people, and for mission.
Have a call to Christian ministry and a gifting in youth work.
Want to train and engage in practical ministry and also study for a credible, flexible and Biblical Bachelors while you do it.
Want to be part of a global mission and perhaps be based in a cross cultural context.
Have the aptitude and commitment for hard work and study.
Are prepared for a three year commitment.
Can raise $4000USD each year for your tuition fees. (You will have all your board and lodging costs covered, and you will receive a weekly allowance against which you can offset these fees. US placed students have an additional cost of $1250 a year for the international conferences, see below).
Otherwise you may like to consider the Missional Leadership and Ministry Diploma, which offers the same opportunities without an accredited qualification. Tuition fees can be offset against your weekly allowance, there are no academic requirements, and a minimal commitment of just two years. For more details of this opportunity

We offer the course in partnership with our UK based training provider, Together in Mission, and Birmingham Christian College. The course originally devised by the Australian College of Ministry now has accreditation pending for 07/08 through the highly prestigious University of Wales. Currently we have students studying in the UK at all three years of the course, while ministering from placement churches in the Great Britain and wider Europe. In September we are recruiting for a new network out of Nashville Tennessee.
If you are UK or Tennessee based, you may be able to join the program from your home church but otherwise we can find placement churches for you in either of these networks. These churches must be able to provide you with the following:
A well-defined youth ministry opportunity which must include working among unchurched young people.
Good pastoral support and line management.
Suitable board and lodging.
Access to other local workers with whom to meet, study and work weekly as team, and to a mentor for weekly support in work and study.
Practical support and affirmation of regular weekly cluster meetings and residential conferences for study and spiritual growth, and wider global mission opportunities if desired.
Weekly allowances up to $75 per week.
Payment of most of training fees, all work expenses and travel to and from weekly meetings and residential conferences.
You will need to raise $4,000 per year in Europe or $5250 per year in Nashville, to cover the balance of your training fees (and for those based in Tennessee, costs for travel to and attendance at an annual global conference in Europe). Occasionally a church placement may offer to pay this for you. Alternatively you can ask the church to pay your part of the fees instead of giving you a weekly allowance, and we also have some fund raising opportunities you can access. You will also need to cover your own travel costs to and from your placement church and, where relevant, any health insurance costs.
.
We have chosen a course which is deliberately general in scope in order to prepare you for a lifetime of ministry, whether youth related or not. We are keen to give the foundations for ministry and encourage you to see youth ministry in the context of wider ministry. We will though augment the course with further in depth youth ministry training. The course is composed of three distinct levels known as Certificate, Diploma and Degree, which can be taken separately if desired (corresponding to years 1, 2 & 3 of your ministry). The work done at each level is measured in terms of “credits”, typically 120 per year. It is possible to explore the transfer of credits from other compatible courses.
The course is modular which means it is broken down into a number of self-contained courses, or modules. Each is individually credit-rated (typically 10 or 20). Assessment is based upon assignments submitted and on the practical ministry undertaken.
