ICY is offering the opportunity for emerging leaders, who don’t particularly want to study for an accredited qualification, and perhaps have limited resources, to train in youth ministry with our partners in the US, UK, Europe and Australia.

This option will suit you if you:

• Are over 18.
• Have a passion for Christ, reaching young people, and mission.
• Have a call to Christian ministry and a gifting in youth work.
• Want to train and engage in practical ministry.
• Want to be part of a global mission and perhaps be based in a
  cross-cultural context.
• Have the aptitude and commitment for hard work.
• Are prepared for at least a one year commitment.
• Need to have your living and work costs covered.

What's it all about
ICY is committed to releasing emerging leaders in churches around the world to reach young people with the love of Christ, and to offer those emerging leaders the very best support and training there is available. Over the years, we’ve found that the best mix is to:

1. To place emerging leaders in supportive churches where they can minister and learn safely with good supervision and pastoral support,
2. As part of a local team who can meet together at least once a week to study, work, pray, worship and relax together,
3. Then draw all those across a wider region or nation for regular conferences of lectures, worship, inspirational input, and fellowship,
4. Offer training tailor made to suit the needs of the individual through a personal mentor and optional participation in lectures offered on the conferences for students on accredited courses.
5. To be a part of a dynamic global network

We hope you will serve churches and young people, see fruit and gain an inspirational and broad experience of church based, mission or missionary focused Christian ministry as a foundation for any form of subsequent Christian ministry.

How it works
Our partners in the US, Europe and Australia find placement churches able to provide emerging leaders with the following:

• A well-defined youth ministry opportunity which must include working among unchurched young people.
• Good pastoral support and line management.
• Suitable board and lodging.
• Access to other local workers with whom to meet, study and work weekly as team, and to a mentor for weekly support in work and study.
• Practical support and affirmation of regular residential conferences for study and spiritual growth, and wider global mission opportunities if desired.
• Weekly allowances wherever possible of up to $75USD per week.
• Payment of all work and networking expenses and travel to and from weekly meetings and residential conferences.

All you will need to cover are your own travel costs to and from your placement church and where relevant any health insurance costs.
